It all started with a conversation with a mission.

Mindful Art: Creating with Gratitude & Compassion

We are proud to say we work in partnership with the Tzu Chi Center where our classes are hosted in a calm, relaxing, environment in the heart of mid town NYC.

This special kids art experience gently blends creative expression with Zen-inspired mindfulness. Through art-making, children are invited to slow down, breathe, and create with intention—cultivating gratitude, kindness, and compassion in a joyful, age-appropriate way.

Each session begins with a short, child-friendly mindfulness moment, followed by open-ended art activities inspired by nature and everyday acts of kindness. Children explore colors, textures, and materials while learning to notice their feelings, appreciate the present moment, and express care for themselves and others.

This program focuses on universal values such as calm awareness, respect, empathy, and joy. No prior art or mindfulness experience is needed—just curiosity and an open heart.

The Tzu Chi Center for Compassionate Relief honors the history of the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation’s global mission of humanitarianism and its trajectory into the 21st century. Nestled in the heart of New York City, it is a welcome space for innovation, connection, meditation, and reflection.

Suzanne

After retiring from a fast-paced executive career in Risk & Strategy Management post MBA, Suzanne shifted her focus to what matters most— family, community, and creativity.

As an active school PTA member and creative mom of two, a princess and a godzilla, her daughter’s love for art sparked a journey to bring more joy, expression, and imagination into children’s lives. While her son’s monster truck drawing, full of fearless scribbles, reminds her that abstract art starts with freedom & happy heart —and inspires how she designs the kids art activities at Picasso & Bubbles.

What Our Community Says

“Enrolling my child in Picasso and Bubbles' art classes has been an enriching experience. The supportive environment and the guidance of the instructors have truly nurtured my child's creativity and passion for art.”
